1. Introduction
At Senses, we are committed to protecting the privacy of students, teachers, and schools who use our classroom engagement detection system.
We believe in ethical AI — our goal is to support learning and attentiveness, not surveillance. This policy explains how SensesEye collects, processes, and protects data while ensuring full compliance with privacy laws in India and globally.
2. Scope
This policy applies to:
- The SensesEye application running on Senses interactive panels in classrooms.
- Any optional school dashboard or reporting feature.
- All teachers, students, administrators, and parents who interact with SensesEye features.
3. Data We Collect
A. From Classroom Devices

4. How We Use the Data
- To display real-time classroom engagement to teachers.
- To generate session-level attentiveness summaries.
- To help schools improve teaching and participation outcomes.
- To support future AI improvements (only with anonymized, aggregated data).
We never use the data for commercial advertising, profiling, or external analytics.
5. Data Processing Principles
SensesEye follows the principles defined under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDP 2023) and global equivalents:
- Consent-first: Schools and parents must provide consent before using the system.
- Purpose-limited: Data is used only for classroom engagement insights.
- Minimization: Only essential data is processed; no personal identifiers or names are stored.
- Security by design: All processing occurs offline on the device by default.
- Transparency: Teachers and schools can view all data SensesEye collects and generates.
- Right to withdraw: Schools or parents may request to stop or delete all collected data anytime.
6. Storage and Retention
- All screenshots, logs, and summaries are stored locally on the classroom device.
- Optional cloud sync is available only if enabled by the school administrator.
- Data is retained for a maximum of 30 days (default) unless extended by school policy.
- After this period, all data is automatically deleted or anonymized.
7. Data Security
We use industry-standard security practices:
- AES-256 encryption for data at rest.
- TLS 1.3 for any cloud uploads.
- Role-based access control for teachers and administrators.
- Local-only inference — no live feed is transmitted over the internet.
8. Data Sharing
We do not share, sell, or rent student data to any third party.
Limited data may be shared only in the following cases:
- With school authorities (for academic evaluation and reporting).
- With parents/guardians (via approved school channels).
- With law enforcement, only if required by law and approved by the school.
9. Children’s Data
SensesEye is used in classrooms with minors under 18. Therefore:
- Consent is collected via the school and parents before activation.
- All data is processed and stored anonymously (Student_1, Student_2, etc.).
- No biometric or identifiable data is transmitted to cloud servers.
10. Third-Party Services
SensesEye does not rely on third-party cloud APIs (like Google Vision or AWS Rekognition) for processing. All inference happens on-device using offline models to maintain privacy and performance.
11. Data Deletion & Opt-out
- Teachers or admins can delete session data anytime from device settings.
- Schools can request permanent deletion by contacting care@senseselec.com.
- Upon deletion, all logs and screenshots are erased securely from the device and any synced servers.
12. Updates to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Any major changes will be communicated to partner schools before implementation.
